...and so it begins.

"...good morning midnight, I've been waiting for you."

Well, I am finally taking the plunge by creating my own blog. Friends keep telling me how I at least need to start one to discuss my love of music and films. I hope to do more with
"The Big Man Speaketh." Hell. I know I am one of millions of blogs, but at least it's out there for people to read. Or ignore. You choose. :)

Today's an odd day in the life of The Big Man. I have discussed homosexuality twice so far this morning. Just for the record, I am not gay. Not that there's anything wrong with that.

The first discussion is with an overly religious coworker about the elections in Canada. Some of the christian organizations here in the good ol' US of A are piping up their opinions. How that the Canadians should elect a "God fearing" person. My friend went on to talk about how he thinks homosexuality and gay marriage is wrong. I told him that I am not planning on marrying any guys anytime soon. So it really does not concern me. :) Some christian organizations are charging that if homosexual marriage passes in Canada, then it will trickle down to the States. I say to that "where is our trickled-down good health care?" Huh? Anyone care to answer that one for me? It's ludicrous to think that if Canada passes it into law, then immediately USA will. I swear I am not knocking the Christian Right, but c'mon people. We don't make our police officers wear them funny caps like the Canadians do. Do we? :)

The second conversation is an ongoing discussion of the movie Brokeback Mountain. A different employee has been trying to figure out how the crap a "gay cowboy" movie is getting so much praise. He has absolutely no interest in seeing it. Which is his right. I am not denying that. I live more by the "don't diss it 'til you have seen it" rule when it comes to films and music. I am going to go see it. It has some fine actors, and a great director. I ain't going lie. It will be difficult for me to watch any love scenes between Jake and Heath because, frankly, that's not what floats my boat. But I am still going to see it. A good movie is a good movie.

Until next time:
